On the last day of Term 3 the Coolock Library had their first ever Mercy Day stall. Badges celebrating reading and writing were available for purchase. Badges included ‘Cool Kids Read and Write’, ‘Read an Adventure - Explore the World’, ‘Fast Reader’, ‘Bikkies and Books - My Favourite!’, ‘I am a Real Reader’ and badges about banned books. They were so popular that all badges were sold. That means 138 badges celebrating literacy can now be worn proudly, with $69 raised. 

Banned Book Week happened to occur in the week of the Mercy Day celebrations so we had a range of titles on display that have been banned or challenged around the world. We also had Dr Seuss titles for students to relax and read over the course of the celebrations. We thank all students who took time to peruse and purchase badges, to view the displays and to read. You demonstrated recognition of the importance of books and reading at our College. Well done.
