Between 22 - 26 January, Tobias Sexton (Year 12) travelled to the Mann River near the NSW/ Queensland border to participate in the Australian Wildwater Kayak Championships.
Toby trains with the Bendigo Academy of Sport at Lake Weeroona and races on weekends with the Bendigo Canoe Club, so participating in these wildwater events is not something that is easy to train for. He was able to find the correct lines down the rapids and won Gold in both the Classic and Sprint races, earning him the two junior titles - Australian Junior Wildwater Kayak Sprint Champion and Australian Junior Wildwater Kayak Classic Champion.
These titles will contribute towards securing a position on the National Wildwater Kayak team which will compete in Europe in 2027. Well done, Tobias.
