Junior Boys State Netball Finals
The Junior Boys made it to the SSV State Semi-Finals.
SCHOOL SPORT VICTORIA - STATE NETBALL FINALS
Junior Boys
On Monday 14 September, our Junior Boys Netball team travelled to Waverley to participate in the School Sports Victoria State finals. This was a terrific effort for the boys to this level, winning through the previous two rounds of competition.
The first game against Sandringham College started very well, with an extremely dominant first half. However, Sandringham caught up in the second half, making the boys really fight for the lead. Although Sandringham looked like overtaking them, CMCB managed to hold on and win 22-20.
The second game, against Mernda Central College, also started very well, and although the second half wasn't as strong, the boys kept a solid lead, winning 19-9.
The final game for the rounds was against Ballarat Clarendon College. It was quite a low-scoring game with a lot of back and forth, however the boys won 12-5 to finish top in the pool.
This led to the semifinal against Belmont High School, and their team featured a number of strong and talented players. They raced out to an early lead and unfortunately, CMCB were just unable to claw their way back into the match, going down 23-13.
The boys were terrific all day and showed incredible versatility and flexibility. They backed each other all day and never gave up until the final siren. Thank you so much to Jye MacDonald, for being our scorer for the day, and Indie Kramer for being our assistant coach. Thank you always to Ms Speed for her planning behind the scenes, and driving the bus and taking photos.
Well done to Isaac Manley (C), Josh Prowse (C), Angus Pitcher, Jesse Cox, Will Shadbolt, Jack Holland, Hamish Baker, Darby Lamb, Darby Kramer, Jensen Sawyer and Henry Kleinert. You should all be extremely proud of your efforts.
