I decided to apply for a leadership position because I wanted to get involved in the behind-the-scenes work that builds our school community, and to gain experience working in a team. I also wanted to work on skills important to leadership roles, such as public speaking, negotiation, and adaptation.
I love organising activities that make other people smile and have fun, like our recent trivia night on Year 12 Retreat. It is important to me that others view me as a person they can rely on and come to if they need any sort of help. Being able to represent the student body in my role as College Captain is an amazing opportunity. I value ensuring that I am true to the people I act as a voice for and that I bring forward the issues they want to see changed, not just what I personally want to change.
This year, my main priority is to increase connection. Not only as a community and between our two campuses, but also between individuals. Part of this comes from increasing participation in school-related activities, which is another goal for this year. I would also love to address the smaller, less noticeable everyday things that can improve student wellbeing, such as supplying cutlery for free instead of having to pay at the canteen or putting up fun poster reminders for events.
There have been so many great leadership experiences already this year. We visited the Coolock Campus to connect with our junior leaders, I officially became a Eucharistic Minister at our Opening Mass, and I handed out pancakes to primary school students on Shrove Tuesday at the Project Compassion launch. Even though it has been scary stepping into such a significant role, I cannot wait to see what else the year has to offer and I am ready to face the challenges it brings head-on.

I chose to be a leader for the opportunity to guide and help others by being their voice and volunteering. L look forward to personal growth, building confidence, and developing communication skills working within a team during 2026.
A key focus for 2026 is to strengthen the connection between both campuses. This is off to a great start with the introduction of buddies between Year 7s and 12s, as well as multiple trips between campuses to exchange ideas with all leaders.
The opportunity to become a Eucharistic Minister during Opening Mass, as well as handing out pancakes for Caritas in the Hargreaves Mall on Shrove Tuesday have been some awesome experiences thus far.
