reGEN Captains 2026

As a leader at CMCB I am passionate about being a voice for other students. A person who other students are comfortable to talk to about things they would love to change or improve in our school environment or even take on projects that involve the community.

I am also passionate about making positive change in our community. As a reGEN Captain, a major goal this year is to educate students about sustainability; how we can be sustainable in our school environment and care for our common home. Together with Toby, we want to tackle major aspects of our school that are unsustainable - to improve them and come up with better alternatives. Better ways to manage paper, electricity and bins will be a focus. Being a leader isn't about having the title, it's about being willing to make positive change, and talking to peers and people around you on how to successfully achieve the change.

Diana Napoleon, reGEN Captain

I chose to become a leader at CMCB to challenge myself, by stepping out of my comfort zone and to prepare for future opportunities. Leadership provides a way to not only share my own ideas but also to represent the voices of peers who might hesitate to express their thoughts to those in leadership positions.

As a reGen leader, I am passionate about continuing the efforts of previous leaders in raising awareness about sustainability and environmental issues within our community. I aim to promote understanding and action by students and staff towards these challenges.

This year, alongside Diana, I hope to increase awareness of our school's environmental impact and work towards reducing our footprint across all areas of sustainability.

The year has already been busy with significant events, including the 150th anniversary of Mercy education in the Bendigo region. A highlight for me was the opportunity to serve as a eucharistic minister during our school's Opening Mass, which was a meaningful experience in my leadership role.
