Cross Country

On Tuesday 2 June, the CMCB Cross Country team travelled to St Arnaud to compete at the School Sport Victoria Loddon Mallee Regional Finals. 21 students competed in wet, cold and slippery conditions, all aiming to perform well and qualify for the State Finals in July.

The team had some excellent individual results, highlighted by two Year 7 girls: Milanke Haasbroek claimed 1st place in the 13 Year Females 3km event, with a time of 11:42, followed closely by Lyla Edwards in 2nd place. Flynn Todd also achieved a strong result, finishing 2nd in the 14 Year Males with a time of 11:09. Alexis Arundell then capped off the podium placings, running an impressive race to finish in 3rd place in a time of 13:48.

Our combined team results were equally pleasing. The 13 Year Females team, comprised of Lyla Edwards, Milanke Haasbroek, Darcy Rodda, Emerson Arundell and Zahra Macumber, placed 1st.

Poppy Carter, Macaila Bannan and Emily Harris also combined well to finish 2nd in the 14 Year Female team event. Rounding out the team results, the 14 Year Males placed 3rd after strong overall performances from Flynn Todd, Preston Anfuso, Joshua Prowse and Chetty Ferguson.
