Year 7 News - 11 June 2026

  • Finishing term strongly
  • Learning focuses - RE Canticles and French
  • Recognition of Achievement Awards

As we head into the final weeks of term, we encourage all Year 7 students to stay focused and finish strongly. This is a valuable time to complete assessment tasks with care and pride, showing the effort and growth developed across the term. While it can be easy to lose momentum, maintaining steady habits - staying organised, meeting deadlines, and staying engaged in class - will ensure a positive and rewarding finish. Consistency now will set students up well for the next semester ahead.

We also remind students of the importance of presenting themselves well each day by wearing their school uniform correctly. As the weather becomes colder, it is important that students come prepared with their blazers, as per our College uniform policy, and ensure they are warm by wearing appropriate uniform items such as their school jumper or scarf.

Thank you to our parents and caregivers for your continued partnership and support. Your encouragement at home makes a meaningful difference as students navigate this busy time, and we greatly value working together to support their success.

Learning Focus: Religious Education

The Caring for Creation unit in Year 7 Religious Education focuses on the revelation of God through all of creation. In it, students explore how God’s creative act invites us to shape our lives, relationships and world by reaching out and actively responding to the call to be co-creators. Students explore the different religious and non-religious views on how the world was created. A connection to Aboriginal Spirituality is intertwined within the unit as students explore the Indigenous connection to land and draw connections to the Christian view of stewardship.

As a part of this unit, students created a stained-glass window inspired by St Francis of Assisi’s Canticle of Creation.

Learning Focus: French

Parker Gollan is an extremely talented artist. Last week she proudly presented the sketches she produced for her French class.
