Welcome to week 4 of Term 3. The time is flying, and many of the students are working on their summative assessments in some classes, which provide a snapshot of progress and help build their capacity to focus and complete tasks under test conditions.

Uniform Reminders
Please remember to wear the College uniform with pride. The academic uniform is showcased by the wonderful Nate Kinnersley in the photo below. 

Uniform Policy Process states that uniform infringements will be given when students don’t have a note explaining the reasons for non-compliance. Please understand that these cannot be retrospectively altered if a note appears later. Notes for being out of uniform are also for the short term only.

Mercy Day
Mercy Day is when we celebrate all things relating to Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy as well as fundraising for Mercy Works. Now is the time to start thinking about your costume or house-coloured outfit for the day.

As we prepare for this occasion, please send through any chocolates, individually wrapped lollies, small prizes, etc for stalls as part of the fundraising activities. Our Year 8 stall is the ‘Balloon Dart Throw.’
You will need to purchase wrist bands to pay for food and rides on the day. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for pre-purchases of some food before the day.

Sports Updates
Congratulations to the students who have successfully participated in sports competitions recently.

• Loddon Mallee Region Netball

On 20 July, students participated in boys and girls netball. The day went well, with the Year 8 Girls winning all five games and the Intermediate Boys also coming out convincing winners. Thanks to coaches Mrs Gretgrix and Mrs Baird, and the student helpers on the day.

• Loddon Mallee Region Football

On 27 July, the Junior Girls and Year 8 Boys Football teams travelled to Swan Hill to compete at the Loddon Mallee Regional Finals. Across the day, both teams won all their matches to progress to the next round of competitions. Thanks to coaches Mr Hann and Mr Coghlan, and to all student helpers.

• Loddon Mallee Region Soccer

On Tuesday 21 July, the Year 8 Boys Soccer team travelled to Moama to compete at the Loddon Mallee Regional Soccer Finals. Having played four tough matches in succession, they showed tremendous willingness to keep competing. Although the team finished with one win and three losses, the boys had a fantastic day of soccer and represented CMCB with great sportsmanship,

Book Week

Book Week is fast approaching (22 to 28 August) and is set for another huge range of activities. Please note that throughout the week there will be:

• Cake competition
• Playlist of songs
• Symphony of Stories
• Teacher Shelfies

A highlight of Book Week is the dress-up day, with prizes distributed to the best-dressed.

Student Diaries

Please note that it is compulsory for students to take their diaries to all classes as they must be signed by the teacher when a student leaves the class for a short period of time for any reason. Parents and carers, please speak to your child to ensure that they follow this process. Diaries were distributed to all students at the beginning of the year.

Social Emotional Wellbeing Surveys

Last week, all students completed the Social Emotional Wellbeing surveys. This was to provide a snapshot of what young people are thinking about, and to help with policy and planning into the future.

Student Shout Outs

Our wonderful Year 8 student Sullivan Koglin used his artistic talents to create an old-school style Game Boy, complete with a range of games in the back. Well done, Sully, for your creativity.
