Year 11 Psychology Brain Dissection

This practical unit deepened students' appreciation of the complexity of the human brain.

At the end of Term 3, Year 11 Psychology students participated in a brain dissection practical as part of their studies in Unit 1, Area of Study 2: How are mental processes and behaviour influenced by the brain? The hands-on activity provided students with the opportunity to examine the structure of the brain firsthand and explore the functions of its major regions.

By identifying and investigating key brain structures, students strengthened their understanding of how the brain influences thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. The practical experience was an engaging way to bring classroom learning to life and deepen students' appreciation of the complexity of the human brain.
