2027 Subjection Selection Evening

On Tuesday 23 June 2026, families and students from Years 9–11 attended 2027 Subject Selection Evening

On Tuesday evening 23 June 2026, families and students from Years 9–11 attended the 2027 Subject Selection Evening. The evening provided valuable opportunities for students to explore subject options, speak directly with teachers and gain clarity about future academic pathways.

The Marian Gym at St Mary’s was transformed into a vibrant hub of subject stalls, where teachers showcased their subjects and answered questions. Students and parents/carers were able to gain valuable insight into curriculum content, expectations and potential career pathways associated with each subject. The interactive format allowed for personalised conversations, helping students make informed choices aligned with their interests and strengths.

Complementing the stalls, a series of information sessions in the Marian Theatre provided a broader overview of the subject selection process. These sessions offered guidance on course requirements, VCE pathways, prerequisites and considerations for future study or employment. Presentations also highlighted the importance of thoughtful decision-making, encouraging students to balance passion, ability and long-term goals when selecting their subjects.

Staff were on hand throughout the evening to offer advice and answer questions, ensuring families felt supported in navigating what can often be a complex process. The collaborative atmosphere between staff, students and families made for a welcoming and productive experience.

The evening was a great success, equipping students with the knowledge and confidence needed to take the next step in their educational journey. The College looks forward to supporting students through the remainder of the subject selection process for 2027.
