Year 7 Boys played a competitive and hard-fought contest against BSE.

SCHOOL SPORTS VICTORIA - SANDHURST DIVISION

Year 7 Boys Soccer

On Monday 22 June, the Year 7 Boys faced Bendigo South East College (BSE) in what proved to be a competitive and hard-fought contest. BSE opened the scoring early in the first half, but our team remained upbeat, and the score remained 1–0 going into halftime.

BSE extended their lead early in the second half; however, CMCB responded well and began to take control of the game. This persistence was rewarded when Antony Qadous scored an excellent goal, getting the team on the scoreboard and narrowing the margin.

The second half was CMCB’s strongest, with improved teamwork, ball movement, and attacking pressure. Unfortunately, while pushing forward to equalise, BSE capitalised on counterattacks and scored two late goals, resulting in a final score of 4-1, which did not accurately reflect how closely contested the match was.

Notable performances came from Harrison Allen and Campbell Parker, whose consistent two-way running and repeat efforts were outstanding throughout the game.

Overall, the team should be proud of their performance, particularly their resilience and improvement in the second half. The team would like to thank Jayden Kaungwa and Christian Martin for running lines on the day.
