End of Term Focus and Moving into Term 3

Congratulations, Year 7 students and families, for reaching the end of your first semester at Catherine McAuley College Bendigo!

This is a HUGE achievement!

You know your teachers and how much they care about your wellbeing and your learning. You know how to get around the campus. You know who you can go to for support. You know our behaviour and learning expectations. You know our classroom routines. You know what activities you can participate in and how to access these. You know so much!

We wish our Year 7 families all the best as you take a well-deserved break. We encourage parents and carers to read your child’s School Report, and more importantly, the comments they receive for each and every learning task. This will continue to celebrate their achievements and help them to improve their skills.

Encounter Day Class Crosses

We recently moved the tiled class crosses from Encounter Day back into the SAM foyer for everyone to enjoy.

Please enjoy this gallery of the 11 MHG crosses.

Exploring Health Careers

Fifteen Year 7 and 8 students took part in the Exploring Health Careers Immersion Day at Bendigo Tech School.

Students enjoyed an engaging, hands-on experience, rotating through interactive sessions that brought health careers to life – from patient care and medical technology to allied health. They learnt practical skills such as CPR, taking blood pressure, and finding a heart rate, as well as touring the facilities and seeing how paramedics train.

“We learnt how to do CPR, take blood pressure, find a heart rate and more.” – Hannah

“A wonderful way to learn about job opportunities and future skills in the medical industry.” – Violet

Recognition of Achievement Awards

The following students have been recognised for their high academic achievement in our Year 7 assemblies over the last few weeks. All are very worthy recipients, balancing other extracurricular activities, as well as receiving numerous commendations from their teachers.

Well done to: Alannah Bell, Chloe McSwain, Hunter Pearce, Jonathan Byrne, Perry Westley and Reid Abley.

Next term, we will be able to use our data sets to recognise academic growth by comparing achievements in Semester 1 to Semester 2.

As the Year 7 Leadership Team, we are so excited about what Term 3 will bring!
