Experiencing live theatre in Melbourne!
On 20 August, the Year 10, 11 and 12 Drama students had a great day at the theatre, heading to the Arts Centre in Melbourne to see the professional performance of ‘Animal Farm’.
Students from schools across Victoria have been enjoying Bloomshed’s production of the George Orwell classic text, as it’s on the VCE Drama playlist for 2026.
In addition to students enjoying a visually engaging, deeply thought-provoking and high-energy performance, our Year 10 students have also been able to take this experience back into their English classes as part of their current novel study of ‘Animal Farm’.
This interpretation of the classic tale was set in an Australian context, combining the original story with an Australian political and cultural climate. The students enjoyed the performance immensely and have now taken many of the things they have seen back into the classroom to support their own performances.
Students have also been required to analyse and evaluate the performance as a key assessment for the semester.
