Welcome to Week 8 of Term 3 and the beginnings of spring weather. 

As winter hibernation comes to an end, it’s time to finalise assessment tasks. Please ensure that you check your PAM notifications and, with your child, regularly check their SIMON dashboards for any overdue tasks. 

Please reach out to your class teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding missed work and how to catch up, or clarification about any overdue notices.

Commendations

Our latest Bronze Commendation recipients are Riozelle Sawit, Hamish Baker and Jack Holland. Well done to you all. Bronze commendations recognise ten or more commendations, which contribute to pastoral, academic or community involvement.

Sports Updates

Netball

Congratulations to the players who participated in the Victorian School Netball Championship - Preliminary Rounds.

The Year 8 Girls won five games and drew one to progress through to the Championship Finals Day in Parkville on 2 September.

Football

Congratulations to the players who participated in the SSV State Quarter and Semi-final at Wendouree recently. 

After defeating Rosehill Secondary College in the Quarter-final, the boys were defeated by Emmanuel College, Warrnambool in the Semi-final. They finished third in the State, which is an outstanding achievement.

Mercy Day (repeat)

As part of the school’s major fundraising event, all staff and students are asked to donate prizes. This year, Year 8s are running the Balloon Dart Throw. Students will volunteer their time via a roster system. Also, students are reminded to bring in single chocolates, small prizes or lollies for Mercy Day Prizes. Hand them in to the General Office or the YLC’s office.

Any donations are greatly appreciated.

Book Week

Last week the school participated in Book Week activities. Students dressed up, decorated cakes, guessed the ‘Teacher Shelfies’ and listened to Bendigo’s famous author Amy Doak.
